Bread Proof Monitor PCB Kit

Build the cleaner PCB version of the Anoraker Bread Proof Monitor without having to solder the sensor headers yourself.

This kit includes the custom Bread Proof Monitor carrier PCB, ESP32, VL53L0X distance sensor, and SHT31 temperature and humidity sensor. The header pins are already soldered onto both sensors, so assembly is mostly a matter of plugging the ESP32 and sensors into their matching sockets, mounting the PCB to your lid, and installing the firmware.

The Proof Monitor watches dough rise by measuring the distance between the sensor and the dough surface. It can track rise percentage, temperature, humidity, proofing stages, stretch-and-fold reminders, and recipe-specific targets through a dashboard hosted directly on the ESP32. Optional ntfy notifications can also alert you when it is time to come back and check your dough.

• Mounting tape or other lid hardware

You will still need to modify a lid or create another mounting method for the PCB. The current build uses two openings in the lid for the sensor sockets, with the PCB mounted on top and the sensors underneath.

The firmware, browser installer, build instructions, wiring information, PCB files, and source code are all available through the Bread Proof Monitor project on GitHub.

On first setup, the Proof Monitor creates its own temporary Wi-Fi network. Connect to that network from your phone or computer, enter your home Wi-Fi information, and the monitor will restart and join your network. From there, you can open the dashboard locally at proofmonitor.local.

The software is pre-installed, but the Bread Proof Monitor is an actively developed project. The latest firmware, browser installer, build instructions, PCB files, source code, and update information are available on GitHub:
